Lesson Horses
Hazel
Hazel is a 11H Welsh cross mare who is zippy and loves to teach young students to ride. She is currently on parental leave.
Pnut
Pnut is a 14.2H gelding who has taught students to ride for decades. While over 26 years old, he is still quick and light on his feet. Only available for walk lessons, but still love his job, and has taught over 3,000 individual riders over his career.
Zeus
Zeus is a 15H Morgan gelding who has traveled all over North America as a chariot horse with famous trick riders. These days he loves teaching new students correct riding. He is available for flat only, and is very accomplished in the dressage ring.
Fire Fly's Magdelena (Lena)
Lena is a homebred 15H Halflinger x Thoroughbred mare who loves to jump. Lena is perfect for novice and advanced riders.
Fire Fly's Ironica (Roni)
Roni is a Dutch Harness mare who only occasionally makes an appearance in the lesson program as she’s Jenn’s show horse.
Jack
Fire Fly’s newest addition is a 15.3H Paint gelding. Jack previously showed on the A Circuit, and is a forward and willing ride.
Cocoa Bongo
Cocoa is a barn favourite, teaching countless students to canter and jump. He’s a gelding standing 14H, with a giant personality and food motivated tummy, he is one of the most careful teachers.
Charlie
Charlie is a Belgium X Quarter Horse gelding. Standing 15.3H, he’s a favourite of our adults students, and loves to hack.
Friendly
Friendly is a 15H Appendix gelding. Another barn favourite, he loves to jump and always does well in the hunter ring. While his name is Friendly, he’s actually quite shy.
Dora Winifried (DW)
Dora is a speedy 12H Welsh mare. A favourite among our young students, Dora loves to jump.
Jazzy
Jazz is a 14.3H Paint mare who loves to teach new students the basics, was previously a barrel horse, and has a beautiful marching walk.
Lil Ben
Benny is a 14H Fjord gelding, and the closest thing Fire Fly has to a teddy bear. He loves learning new things.
Rusty
Rusty is a 15.3H Draft Cross gelding. He is a really sweet boy who doesn’t want to do anything wrong, and loves connecting with his riders.
Molly
Molly is a 13H Lipizzan mare, who knows up to second level dressage. She has a lot to teach and adores being pampered by her riders.
Akasha (Kay)
Kay is a 13H Halflinger mare who is retired after a career of taking young riders to the show ring. She is now enjoying her time as a mama, most recently to Haiku.

Fire Fly's Calliope
Calliope is a 2020 Dutch Warmblood x Dutch Harness filly. She is still growing, and is expected to mature 16.3h+. She’s starting to canter under saddle and learning to bend. Available for sale.
Fire Fly's Edwin
Edwin is a 2022 Canadian Sport Pony/ American Show pony (shetland) foal by Fire Fly’s Tugs On My Heart, expected to mature small. He qualified for the Royal 2023, and is available for sale.
Fire Fly's Dazzle
Dazzle is a 2021 Canadian Sport Pony colt by Fire Fly’s Tugs On My Heart. Currently a flaxen chestnut. He is expected to mature medium. Available for sale.
Fire Fly's Haiku
Haiku is Fire Fly’s newest foal, a 2025 Andalusion x Halflinger filly by Fire Fly’s Talladega. She’s curious and brave, learning to lead.
Fire Fly's Galadriel (Gladdy)
Gladdy is a 2024 Andalusion x Percheron colt by Fire Fly’s Talladega. He’s learned to lead and stand quietly to be groomed. Available for sale.
Fire Fly's Cruller
Cruller is a 2020 Canadian Sport Pony colt by Fire Fly’s Tugs On My Heart. Chestnut expected to mature medium. Available for sale.
Duquessa (Dewy)
Dewy is an Andalusion mare who is learning dressage and working equitation.
